GROW-SUPPLY CARE & OUR REPLACEMENT PROMISE

The Monk
Akashic Method.

Clean work. Patient growing. Strong beginnings. A little care at every step gives your gourmet mushroom project a better start.

PREPARED WITH INTENTION

Consistent batches.
Care before shipping.

At Mega Mushrooms, we prepare our grow supplies in consistent production batches and test those batches two weeks before shipment.

01 · KNOW YOUR MATERIAL

Start with the right foundation.

Our grain bags arrive uninoculated. Add your gourmet mushroom culture using appropriate aseptic technique, then allow the grain to become fully colonized before transferring it into a compatible fruiting substrate.

Choose a recipe matched to your mushroom. Hardwood blends suit compatible wood-loving species. Coco coir is an ingredient or casing material where appropriate; it is not complete nutrition for our gourmet wood-loving varieties.

02 · SET YOUR SPACE

Clean hands. Mindful work.

Wash your hands, wear clean gloves, and clean your work surface and tools. Use an appropriate clean workspace and aseptic technique when opening bags or transferring cultures. Gloves alone do not make a workspace sterile.

Keep bags sealed until you are ready. When spawning to bulk, distribute healthy, fully colonized grain thoroughly through the prepared substrate.

03 · MEASURE WITH PURPOSE

Follow your mushroom’s recipe.

For a recipe using a 1:2–3 spawn-to-bulk ratio by prepared weight, use one part fully colonized grain spawn to two or three parts compatible substrate. Bag counts work only when the bags have the same weight.

For example, one 3 lb spawn bag paired with two or three 3 lb substrate bags follows that ratio. A 3 lb bag and a 5 lb bag are different measures. Follow species-specific instructions when they call for another ratio; do not use this as a universal coir-only recipe.

04 · GIVE IT A LOOK

Inspect before you begin.

Check your unopened bags on arrival and again before use. Look for damaged seals, leaks, or unexpected growth. Keep any suspect bag closed and separate from your growing area, then contact us.

You may set unopened substrate bags aside for about a week after delivery to observe them before use, following the batch’s storage instructions. Observation can reveal a problem, but cannot prove sterility.

05 · STORE WITH CARE

Protect your fresh start.

Keep unopened prepared grain and substrate bags in a clean, dry place at stable room temperature, away from direct sunlight and heat. Follow the instructions supplied for your product and batch.

Plan to use your supplies promptly. Contact us before extended storage. Liquid cultures and agar plates have their own storage needs; ask for the instructions for your variety rather than treating them like substrate bags.

06 · WE STAND BEHIND YOUR BAG

A replacement if it arrives compromised.

If your unopened grain or substrate bag arrives contaminated or with a compromised seal, we’ll replace the affected bag. Keep it sealed and email your order number and clear photographs of the bag, seal, and affected area to megamushroomsohio@gmail.com.

If a concern appears after opening or inoculation, contact us so we can help review it. This arrival-condition promise is not a guarantee of harvest size or protection from contamination introduced during use.

Good growing starts with a good conversation.
